Connect networked Ki Pro devices and start recording

This guide will introduce new users to Shepherd's ability to connect to Ki Pro devices on a network and begin recording. More complete and detailed information about each feature can be found in the table of contents.

Connecting to networked Ki Pro devices

To link Shepherd to connected supported Ki Pro devices, press CTRL + D, click the "Add Ki Pro Device" button and select "Add All Ki Pros on Your Network" when prompted, or open the Manage menu and select "Find Ki Pro Device(s)".

A progress bar will launch while the system searches for and connects to the available Ki Pro systems.

The device list will populate with all available devices.

Start recording on Ki Pro(s) from Shepherd interface

To begin recording with one or more of the connected Ki Pros, first click the slider on the right of the Device List to arm the Ki Pro (green is for armed)

Next, enter a clip name into the field in the top left, as well as a take number in the field to the right (take numbers will be automatically incremented and appended to clip names as more recordings are added)

Once there is an armed Ki Pro and a clip name, the Record transport control will become active and the Status in the lower left will turn to "Ready"

Press the Record button to begin recording. To end the recording, press the Stop button. The playlist will automatically update with the new clip information and increment the take number by a value of one.
