The information in this article pertains to the use of CodeMeter Runtime Kit 6.10a or later.
If you have purchased Analyzer or Retargeter licenses from Faceware, you can choose to use the licenses either locally (activated on the computer the licenses will be used on) or you can designate one machine as your "license server". If you set up a License Server, any licenses installed on this machine are then accessible by any other computers on your local network (LAN).
Once setup is complete, the licenses will only be present on the server and not in the client's CodeMeter Control Center. Running the software on the client is THE ONLY WAY to know if the licenses are working properly over the server. Additionally, if you have a trial installed on the client, then CodeMeter will use the local trial until it expires before switching to searching for the network license. To avoid this, choose "No" when prompted to install the 30-day trial during software installation.
1. Open the CodeMeter Control Center. In Windows, you can find CodeMeter Control Center in the Start Menu in the CodeMeter folder, or you can find it in your system tray or Notification Area.
2. In the lower right of CodeMeter Control Center, click the 'WebAdmin' button.

3. In CodeMeter WebAdmin, select 'Configuration>Server>Server Access'.

4. In the 'Network Server' box, select 'Enable' and press 'Apply'. (If necessary, change your 'Network Port'.)

6. In the CodeMeter Control Center, select 'File -> Quit'.
7. Open the CodeMeter Control Center. In Windows, you can find CodeMeter Control Center in the Start Menu in the CodeMeter folder, or you can find it in your system tray or Notification Area.
All licenses activated on this machine will now be accessible to any computer on your local area network (LAN).
8. OPTIONAL - In the License Access Permissions tab, you can choose to whitelist any IP addresses that you wish to allow access to the licenses. Please note that if you enter at least one IP address into the list, then all other IP addresses are blacklisted and will not be able to access the licenses. To allow any machine on your network to have access, leave the list blank.
To use your license on a client machine, you will need to go into the WebAdmin on the client and go to Configuration>Basic>Server Search List.
*Note: Your client machine may be able to find a broadcasting Codemeter license server on your network without entering the server's IP address, but we recommend doing so to prevent any issues.

Press 'Add New Server' to add your license server's IP address to the 'Server Search List' and select 'Apply'. Restart CodeMeter.
When the user then attempts to start an application protected by CodeMeter, it will search for an available license. If your license server is found, you'll see a message similar to this one in the 'Events' tab (in CodeMeter Control Center).
