Stream Animation Data to Your Character

The last step is to stream the animation values from your Studio application to the Faceware Live Link plugin for Unreal Engine or one of the Live Client plugins (for Unity, MotionBuilder, or Unreal Engine 4).

Note: Before streaming, you must set up your character and Live Client plugin. See our knowledge base for more information about the Faceware Live Link plugin for Unreal Engine or each individual Live Client plugin

How to Stream the Data from Studio to Your Character

1.) Setup your video input, tracking calibration, and motion effects as desired.

2.) Go to the Streaming Panel (View>Panels>Streaming Panel if closed).

3.) Select the desired port. The ports should match between this value and the port set in the receiving plugin.

4.) Press the Streaming button (pictured)

If the button is blue, then data is streaming from Studio.

Control Schema

The Control Schema options dictate the naming conventions used for the data streaming from Studio. In the future, Studio will support updated clients and ARKit characters. At this time, only the Legacy schema is supported.

Choose Specific Face Groups to Stream

If you wish to stream data only for specific areas of the face, you can turn off any or all of the regions via the Stream Face Groups options in the Streaming Panel.

Streaming Options

To stream UV data for the tracking landmarks in addition to the control values, turn on Stream UV Positions prior to streaming.

If you are streaming UV data alongside the shape data, there will be an additional set of values that are streamed.
