Transferring a CodeMeter License

If you wish to transfer an Analyzer, Retargeter, or Realtime for iClone license from one computer to another, please send an email to Faceware support at support@facewaretech.com requesting the transfer and include all of the information and files listed below. Please keep in mind that the transfer can sometimes take several days due to time zone differences and requires an active support subscription.

If you are unsure about the status of your support subscription, please inquire at sales@facewaretech.com. (Realtime for iClone users should provide proof of purchase from their Reallusion account)

Once Faceware support has received your email with the appropriate files, they will then be able to facilitate your license transfer.

Note: Trials are not eligible for transfer. If you need to move your trial to a new computer, please download the software installer from the Downloads page and select "yes" when prompted to start the 30 day trial on the new computer during the install process.

What to Include in Your License Transfer Request

  1. A list of the existing license(s) that you wish to transfer
  2. A license request file (RaC)
  3. A license diagnostic file (CmDust)

How to Create your RaC (License Request) File when Updating an Existing License:

  1. Open the CodeMeter Control Center.  In Windows, you can find CodeMeter Control Center in the Start Menu in the CodeMeter folder, or you can find it in your system tray or Notification Area.
  2. Select ‘Faceware Software’ and then click “License Update” in the lower right.
  3. The CodeMeter Field Activation Service (CmFAS Assistant) will start.  Select Next.
  4. Select the Create license request option and select the Next button.
  5. Type in the path to save your file, and select the Commit button.

To create a CodeMeter Diagnostic File using 'CmDust':

  1. Start Menu --> All Programs --> CodeMeter --> Tools --> CmDust
  2. A DOS box will appear for a few seconds, then the user folder will be open, and there will be a file named “CmDust-Result.log”.
